Study campus for the marine turtles

The study campuse for the marine turtles is referred to the "Project of turtles tagging"

(June-August) we embark the day after the arrival, at about 7 a.m., and give lessons about the Strict and the turtles biology explaining the technique and the rigging used for their capture and the following marking. As soon as the first turtle will be captured, the partecipants, together with the researcher, will start the data collection which consists in recording the gps co-ordinates, measuring and weighing the animals, identifying their sex, and then taking pictures. Soon after, a little identifying plate will be applied and the animal released at once; during the stay on board, we will try to capture and mark as many specimen as possible. The program include lunch on board and departure at about 5 p.m.. Clothes must be light, but it is also important to wear boat shoes, a hat and take a suncream and a k-way,
in case of windy days; we also suggest to take a camera and a binoculars.
